We believe the Bible, as originally given, to be divinely inspired and infallible. The Bible is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
We hold to the great Reformation doctrines contained in the Creeds, the 39 Articles of Religion and The Book of Common Prayer.
In brief summary, we believe in:
God
- The Trinity - There is one God in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- The Creator - God created the universe, good in every way.
Man
- The Image of God - Human beings were created in the image of God, and charged under his authority with caring for the world in which he placed us.
- Sin - Our rebellion against God separates us from him, brings us under his judgment, and damages our relationships with our fellow creatures and the creation we live in.
Jesus
- God’s Plan - God loves us, and has chosen to save us through Jesus Christ.
- God and Man - Jesus, God the Son, became man. He was human in every way, except without sin.
- His Death and Resurrection - Jesus took upon himself the sin of the whole world on the cross. He died and was buried. Those who believe in him find forgiveness in his death, and new life in his resurrection.
- His Return - Jesus ascended into heaven. He sits at the right hand of the Father, and will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead.
- Grace - We are saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone; by God’s grace and not by our own works.
The Holy Spirit
- God’s Presence - God sends his Holy Spirit to live in those who belong to him.
- Transformation - The Holy Spirit works in us to gives us new life, help us grow in holiness, and inspire us to do the works of God.
The Church
- The Body Of Christ - The Church is a community of those who belong to Jesus. We each have distinctive gifts to use for the purpose of glorifying God and building each other up in our faith.
- The Mission - Our purpose in the world is to live for God’s glory, and to bring others to know him too.
